Recently, director Joss Whedon who will direct THE AVENGERS movie had announced tha Mark Ruffalo will be replacing Edward Norton as David Banner aka The Hulk.
Whedon had admitted that was stunned that Marvel was able to cast Ruffalo ,whom he described to be his "first and only choice" for the role of David Banner.
During a public statement by Marvel, its president of production, Kevin Feige stated that stated that the decision to replace Norton was not "montary" but because of "the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members". Norton being a gentleman that he is, stayed cool with that statement and instead thanked fans and Marvel for giving him the chance to be part of the Hulk's long and excellent history.
I personally liked how Norton carried the role of David Banner. We'll have to wait and see how far Ruffalo can take on the role. Ruffalo admitted that he has "some pretty big shoes to fill" and realizes that the fans "have very strong feelings toward their comic book heroes."
As much as I was disappointed that Marvel had replaced Edward Norton as David Banner, I'm willing to see what Mark Ruffalo can do in the upcoming THE AVENGERS.
